We have arrived...Rome, the eternal city, the scene of our next stop on the 7 Wonders world tour,the Coliseum! Getting here seems like an adventure in itself. Overnite Calgary to London, a 1 1/2 hour layover, 3 hours to Rome...and a 9 hour time change and its almost 24 hours later!
No problems in transit, got lost on the walk to the hotel though...Gee, I thought i knew where I was going!? Day one, off to the Coliseum.
The Coliseum! An AWESOME sight! Hard to believe its 2000 years old! Great tour inside and out, except for the malfunctioning audio units provided!

A little behind on the updates...damn wireless internet connections. We'll have pics and comments up on Sept. 10. The Roman Forum, Palatine hill, the Spanish Steps, various plazas and a visit to the Pope's house. (He's got a REALLY nice place!) Stay tuned...ciao!

Buon giorno! An afternoon walk through Rome is an incredible visual experience. Renaissance sculptures, ornate churches, 1st century architecture, elaborate fountains, the Pope's house...you just never know what's around the next corner. We're having a great time, just not enough time to see everything. You could take weeks to see it all!
We'll be updating from Florence and Pisa tomorrow...buona notte!

Just got back from visiting Florence and the Tower of Pisa by train. Beautiful cities, tons of art and architecture to gaze at...another few days here would have been nice! Food, glorious food! I can't believe how much we EAT! Pizza, pasta, florentine steak...TIRAMASU!
Did I mention the shopping? Leather, jewelery, hand blown glass...we managed to pick a few(?) things!
Its off to Athens early tomorrow, we'll update on Sunday after we visit the Acropolis!

Amazing is a word that I keep on using to describe some of the sights that we've see, but the Acropolis in Athens....AMAZING! Once again we have sightseen, shopped and ate our way through another fantastic city. We GOTTA go to Mykonos tomorrow for 4 days of lazing on the beach...darn, the hardship of it all! We'll update in a day or two!
